As an Urban Design Intern at the Mayor’s Chief Policy Office, Housing Innovation Lab, I contributed to a range of impactful initiatives aimed at enhancing urban living and fostering community development. My role involved leveraging publicly-owned land to create permanently affordable housing that aligns with neighborhood development goals. I evaluated planning options for cityowned sites, ensuring optimal residential unit distribution while adhering to zoning regulations and addressing community needs. Additionally, I supported efforts to build or acquire 500 units of permanent supportive housing for currently unhoused Atlantans. My work also explored innovative approaches in urban design, landscape design, climate resilience, and architecture for publicly-led projects. I pursued strategies to support neighborhood-scale grocery development in food deserts, all while conducting detailed research, coordinating projects, and engaging with key stakeholders.

Community charrette involvements

Interactive boards were created for the community to give their feedback through the various activities.

This on-spot mapping exercise helped us visually understand the feedback and site suggestions coming directly from the community.

Participants were asked to articulate their vision for Barge Road by listing what they want and do not want to see in the next five years.

Interactive boards were created for the community to give their feedback through the various activities.
The community charrette events engaged residents through interactive boards to gather feedback, ensuring their input shaped the site’s future vision and fostering collaboration and inclusivity.
